Terms of Service

Effective date: July 12, 2026

DeadMod Studio is free today. We may add paid features later, but we will show you the price and terms before charging you.

These Terms govern your use of DeadMod Studio ("DeadMod," "we," "us," or "our"). By signing in, checking the acceptance box, or using the service after accepting an updated version, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. The service

DeadMod is a browser-based tool for making lyric videos, visualizers, and related creative exports. The service is provided as-is and may change, be limited, or be discontinued. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular export format, or that every browser will support every feature.

2. Accounts

You must provide an email address you control and keep access to your email-code login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share access, impersonate someone else, or use the service if you are not legally able to agree to these Terms.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of songs, lyrics, artwork, logos, videos, and other material you use with DeadMod. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use that material and to create and publish your exports.

To operate the service, you give DeadMod a limited, non-exclusive license to process the material and project data you provide only as needed to provide requested features, including transcription, saving project metadata, displaying previews, exporting, troubleshooting, and security. This license ends when the relevant processing ends, except for limited records retained under the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use DeadMod to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, upload malware, harass or abuse people, spam, scrape or overload the service, bypass rate limits or security controls, reverse engineer the service, or interfere with another user’s access. Do not submit highly sensitive or regulated information that the service is not designed to handle.

5. Free service and future paid features

DeadMod is currently free and does not request payment information. We may introduce paid plans or features later. We will clearly show pricing, billing terms, and any cancellation or refund rules before charging you. We will not turn a free account into a paid subscription without your affirmative agreement.

6. Ownership

DeadMod owns the service, software, design, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable license to use the service while your account is in good standing. The Paper shaders used in parts of the app are open-source software under the Apache License 2.0; see Third-party licenses.

7. Third-party services

DeadMod depends on third-party infrastructure, email, analytics, and transcription providers. Those services can have separate terms, privacy practices, outages, and limits. We are not responsible for failures outside our reasonable control.

8. Suspension and deletion

We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, or misuse the service. You can stop using DeadMod and delete your account from Settings. We may retain limited information as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, DeadMod is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will be error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost data, profits, or business interruption. Our total liability for claims related to DeadMod will not exceed $100. Some laws do not allow all of these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Changes and disputes

We may update these Terms as the service changes. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice and require acceptance when appropriate. These Terms are governed by Indiana law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, unless applicable law requires another forum.
